Welcome to Swiss AI Weeks Hackathons!
This guidebook contains all the necessary information for you to have the best hackathon experience possible. We've gathered the essentials for Swiss {ai} Weeks 2025.
- Swiss plugs are Type J; bring adapters if you need them.
- If you cannot attend, notify the team so your spot can be reassigned.
- High-speed internet is available throughout the venue; repeated false password attempts may lock access temporarily.
General Information
QR code in the event app, valid ID, laptop and charger, Type J power adapters, LAN cable, refillable water bottle and warm clothes.
Air mattress, sleeping bag or blanket, pillow, sleeping mask and ear plugs.
Basic travel necessities, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, deodorant, medication, towel and swimsuit.
Location & Arrival
Venue: Kraftwerk Zurich, Saalsporthalle, Neue Hard 12, 8005 Zurich, Switzerland.
From Zurich HB, take tram 4 to Escher-Wyss-Platz. From the airport, take the train to Zurich HB, then tram 4. Use the SBB Mobile app for tickets.
Limited parking is available, so public transport is recommended.
Working on a Project
There is a dedicated timeslot for real-life matchmaking and team formation.
- Workshop rooms are allocated to specific partners and challenge interests.
- Use Discord channels such as #looking-for-a-team and #looking-for-members to match online.
- Introduce your team, the current members and the skills you still need.
Tools
The toolkit was framed as a work-in-progress starting point for AI apps, immersive experiences and web design.
Firebase, Heroku, DigitalOcean and Vercel.
Webflow, Figma, Tailwind CSS and React.
Cursor, natural-language coding and codebase-aware assistance.
Rules to Follow
Be respectful and act in good faith. Harassment and abuse are never tolerated.
- Swiss {ai} Weeks seeks to provide a respectful, friendly, professional experience for everyone.
- Offensive comments, intimidation, stalking, inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome sexual attention are not tolerated.
- Be friendly, welcoming, patient, thoughtful, open, curious and inclusive.
Relax & Recharge
Quiet sleeping areas were planned for participants taking a break from hacking, including a separate women's sleeping area.
Shower facilities were available for overnight participants; towels, toiletries and shower shoes were recommended.
Discord, WhatsApp community groups, event app notifications and email updates formed the communications stack.
