You are still wondering when a machine might outthink you. In many contexts, we are already past that threshold. Critically, our institutions lack the vocabulary for what is unfolding: a simultaneous destabilization of human cognition, human lifespan, and human purpose.
In the not-so-distant future, when liquid cognition enables biological limits to bend, the traditional architecture of our lives —education, labor, retirement— will lose its place in society.
