AI and the Planet
Organized by Geneva Hub - Young AI Leaders
A conference to map sustainability challenges in AI and develop Geneva’s Sustainable AI community 📅 May 5th (17h30-21h) | 📍 SDG Solution Space (Geneva)
AI is reshaping our world, but what about its impact on the planet?
As AI expands, its energy, water, and material demands continue to grow across the value chain. To date, these sustainability challenges remain under-mapped and, when addressed, are tackled in fragmented, siloed ways.
Geneva is a global hub for digital and environmental governance, and has a unique role in shaping Sustainable AI. Because of this, the International Telecommunication Union-associated Young AI Leaders Community | Geneva Hub has launched this conference, hosted by Geneva Macro Labs. This is the first in a series designed to bring together Geneva’s diverse AI community to develop shared understandings of the value chain, its sustainability challenges, and how to address them.
What to expect in this first conference:
📊 Keynote on the AI value chain: A research-based walkthrough of the AI value chain, highlighting its key sustainability challenges. 🧠 Sustainable AI expert panel: Experts from the public sector, private sector, civil society, and academia examining these sustainability challenges from diverse perspectives. 🧭 Interactive workshop: Participants co-creating an AI Sustainability Map identifying their own roles in driving action, and exploring opportunities for collaboration across Geneva’s AI community. 🍸 Networking cocktail: A chance to continue conversations, exchange ideas, and build connections across Geneva’s AI community.
👉 Register now and be part of the conversation from the start!
